Never change, Brian.

Brian Kerr is a national treasure. Whenever he appears on TV3 or RTÉ's match coverage, viewers are in for a treat. Whenever he's on the radio, listeners are in for a treat. The man is a fountain of all things football. His wide-ranging knowledge on the game, both from an Irish and an international perspective is unmatched by any other football pundits, on that same scale. His management career has been successful, too, and that's what makes his absence from the FAI youth coaching set-up all the more baffling. After all, this is the man who oversaw Ireland winning a bronze medal at the World Youth Championships, as well as winning at the under-16 and under-18 European Championships. The Drimnagh native parted ways with the FAI more 12 years ago, after his stint as Republic of Ireland manager between 2003 and 2005, but absence makes the heart grow fonder, and many have been calling for his return to the FAI, in some capacity anyway, in recent times. The 64-year-old was at his brilliant best on Today FM on Saturday afternoon. Kerr was commentating on the clash of Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke in Wembley Stadium. His description of Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri certainly had listeners laughing at the steering wheel or wherever they were listening to Today FM this afternoon. It really was Brian Kerr at his brilliant, brilliant best.
"Would you mind if I said, hasn't he the funniest shape of any player in the Premier League? "He's like a bloke that you might see standing outside the pub on a Sunday morning, with his bag with his boots in it, saying 'I'm aware we're playing today, and a white van comes and picks him up. "He's a little chunky fella. He's wide at the hips, that's probably being generous to him...but he's a good player.

In fact, it got even better as he delivered the line of the day. https://twitter.com/TodayFM/status/939530518885957632 Only Brian Kerr. https://twitter.com/Bazkells/status/939548717920681984 https://twitter.com/Patrickward92/status/939532160645652482 https://twitter.com/mickbrophy/status/939541461821001729 https://twitter.com/KieronDuffin/status/939541109176438784
