And it is understood that it is financial issues that could be the major stumbling block preventing Celtic agreeing personal terms with the 43 year old.
To be fair, if you were to earn £10million for doing nothing but topping up your tan and working out to Kanye West, you'd take it too.
But the longer the ex-Liverpool man is out of work, the harder it may be for him to get a permanent position deserving of his talents.
We suspect that Rodgers, and the Liverpool bean counters, will be very glad if a deal with Celtic is wrapped up this weekend.
