Brendan Rodgers set for Liverpool windfall if he doesn’t take the Celtic job

The Uruguayan is hoping his former boss Brendan Rodgers takes over at Celtic so that he can get back into management, and show the people of Glasgow what great character looks and smells like. The owner of Liverpool no doubt is also hoping the Irishman gets back to work shortly, for other, more earthy reasons Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool in October, and ever since has been receiving parachute payments from the club as his contract was terminated. Various reports suggest that Rodgers is entitled to £5million per annum for the next two years if he was to remain unemployed. And it is understood that it is financial issues that could be the major stumbling block preventing Celtic agreeing personal terms with the 43 year old. To be fair, if you were to earn £10million for doing nothing but topping up your tan and working out to Kanye West, you'd take it too. But the longer the ex-Liverpool man is out of work, the harder it may be for him to get a permanent position deserving of his talents. We suspect that Rodgers, and the Liverpool bean counters, will be very glad if a deal with Celtic is wrapped up this weekend.
