Brendan Rodgers: I understand Celtic supporters will hurt

New Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he understands the hurt that Celtic fans are going through after he left the club earlier this week for the Premier League.

Rodgers was on the verge of a triple treble with the Scottish champions but left the Glasgow club for Leicester with just over two months to go in the season. I understand how they feel – they are hurting and a bit worried about what will happen. “Listen, words, you always have to be careful with words. I have seen the banner. The Celtic supporters are hurting. It is a worldwide fan base. They gave me everything. “It was a shock, they are probably angry, but in time a reality will set in and hopefully the work we did will how we are judged. “This (Leicester) is a fantastic club with a real rich history of its own. Its recent history has been incredible as everyone has seen." https://twitter.com/STVSport/status/1101536290372243457 Leicester defender Ben Chilwell said Rodgers met with the team after the Foxes' recent win over Brighton and said that he expects a side that is willing to press and win the ball back in defence.

"We had a meeting yesterday when we came in, a half-an-hour meeting on what he expects from us and what we can expect from him and the style of play. “The main thing that came out of it was the fact he wants us to press, he wants us to be very aggressive, when we don’t have the ball to try and win it back quickly and be difficult to play against. “He wants us to play a good style of football, attacking with lots of goals, but to be solid at the back as well.”
