Brendan Rodgers set to recruit former Ireland international as Liverpool assistant

'Noisy' is coming to Anfield.
Liverpool are expected to announce former Ireland international Sean O'Driscoll as their new assistant coach. O'Driscoll, who has previously managed Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Crawley Town, has left his role as England Under-19 coach and is set to join Brendan Rodgers on the Anfield bench next season. The man nicknamed Noisy, from his playing days at Fulham, earned three Ireland caps in the 1980s under Eoin Hand. Born in Wolverhampton, O'Driscoll played the bulk of his career in midfield for Bournemouth.
The 57-year-old will replace former Reds assistant colin Pascoe, who did not survive a stringent summer review that saw Rodgers shed many of his support staff.
His work with talented teenagers may have been a telling point in his imminent switch. Liverpool are attempting to filter in young players to the senior side, such as Jordon Ibe, Jerome Sinclair and Bobby Adekanye, in the coming years.Explore more on these topics:
