Sometimes, you got the feeling that Brendan Rodgers got into football management purely for the press conferences.

He loved nothing more than to spout his buzzwords in front of the cameras and to dissect the game as articulately and as repetitively as he could. The old management took a turn for the worse but imagine a job where you could talk all the bullshit of the day that you so pleased and not have to do anything else. Step forward, Monday Night Football. A place so welcoming that it would make you think that even Gary Neville could cut it in management. Well, Brendan Rodgers was on board for the Swansea and Watford match and, whilst it was a gripping watch as usual, the character lent itself to an internet shit-storm. (Pun fully intended) The initial announcement didn't get viewers too enthused. https://twitter.com/4sedge/status/689166487551127552 It did get them prophesising though. https://twitter.com/DanielCarloto_/status/689161763376508928 And, of course, the Arsenal characters (oh) were out in force. https://twitter.com/roomystabs/status/689161791885209600 Brendan kept it in check though. https://twitter.com/Coral/status/689167079757459456 But the broken record quickly tried to spin again. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/689167668637765632 https://twitter.com/Sennesation/status/689168762243837952 Some people just gave him no chance. https://twitter.com/Sean_Fay/status/689169566556098561 Others were confused. https://twitter.com/AgsConnolly/status/689173024650752000 https://twitter.com/AngeP37/status/689173476796706816 Some just got fed up listening. https://twitter.com/Malachians/status/689173083035336705 It was predictable after all. https://twitter.com/wantmybet/status/689173137838190593 Who doesn't love a bit of irony? https://twitter.com/HeSawRed/status/689176248443088896 Twitter just has a lot of angry people in general. https://twitter.com/KingXisco/status/689172907671597056 But the Northern Irish man had plenty of backers after his performance. https://twitter.com/NiallMcCann1/status/689173482601627648 https://twitter.com/DanGroom22/status/689173014630522880 https://twitter.com/punter86/status/689172617224388609 https://twitter.com/JARiiseOfficial/status/689167350747258881 Try telling this guy though. https://twitter.com/Copson333/status/689173251000500224
