The most comforting aspect of any Irish team. That, and a Keane, should be compulsory on every international squad.
But, whilst Liam Brady's race might well be run as far as the Republic of Ireland is concerned, his playing spirit lives on. So does his left foot. So does his name.
Robbie Brady emulated one of the country's greatest ever midfielders to strike one of the most crucial goals in Martin O'Neill's qualifying campaign.
Through the Bosnian fog, the 23-year-old Dubliner burst forward, he cut in from the right, he got it onto his left and pulled the ball back inside the near post completely deceiving the 'keeper.
And we've seen it before from a Brady. Almost exactly the same. Against Brazil in 1987.
(At least we think it was the same. How could you really tell with the fog?)
1. The Bradys burst forward as the ball bounces ahead of them
Robbie Brady is on the right. Look closely. You might see him, you might not.
2. The Bradys enter the box
Just right of centre, defenders chasing.
3. Both of them cut back onto their favoured lefts
Red alert, red alert.
4. The Bradys pull the trigger with near-identical technique5. They catch the 'keepers on their heels
As Jim Beglin put it, they both 'do' the goalies.
6. One 'keeper reacts too late, the other just falls on his arse7. The Bradys reel away in celebration
Ireland loses its head
But, hey, check them out for yourself.
