Ever since he took Xavi's number, he's fallen off the face of the earth
Barcelona have offered midfielder Denis Suárez to Arsenal as soon as this January, according to the Independent.
Suárez has struggled for game time at the Camp Nou ever since he went back after impressing for Villarreal under Marcelino. But his homecoming was not the fairytale he envisaged, as he has not been able to break into the first team.
The former Manchester City midfielder is now seeking a move away before he fades into irrelevance.
Suárez has made just five appearances for Barça this season, with only one of them coming in the league, when he came on for eight minutes at the end of a 4-0 thrashing against Catalan rivals Espanyol.
Suàrez's entourage were informed this week that the club are happy to see him leave the club, and they have wasted no time in sounding out potential suitors, offering him to Premier League sides for a very reasonable £14m.
Arsenal have emerged as a potential destination for the Spaniard, who spent a year on loan at Sevilla during current Arsenal boss Unai Emery's time at the LaLiga club.
Arsenal would see Suárez as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who looks set to leave Arsenal on a free in the summer of 2019, after failing to agree a new contract with the club.
