Barcelona could lose summer signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie for free

Two of Barcelona's summer signings, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, could be allowed to leave the club for free before they've even played a competitive game for the Catalan giants. Both players joined the LaLiga outfit after leaving their respective clubs, Chelsea and AC Milan, at the end of last season. However, Barça's current financial state means their short-lived stint at the Camp Nou could come to an end already.
Due to their current financial situation, the club are not allowed to register any new players ahead of their upcoming LaLiga campaign - which begins in three days time against Rayo Vallecano.
As per ESPN, Christensen and Kessie both have a clause in their contracts that would allow them to exercise the right to leave Barcelona for free if they are not registered in time.
Other new signings, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Koundé are also yet to be registered, as well as Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembélé - who both signed new deals after their initial contracts had expired.
Christensen and Kessie's situation is slightly different to the other players who need registering as they joined the club for no fee, meaning they would be allowed to leave for free.
Should this happen, Barcelona could be forced to speak to the players' agents to persuade them to say. Clubs have until the end of August to register new signings for their squads.
Barcelona have spent over €150m on signings this summer and are looking to sell off/negotiate pay cuts with some of their biggest earners.
The club are also selling off their television rights as another way of giving the club a much-needed cash injection.
