Australian newspaper is guilty of a big Euro 2016 blunder

Euro 2016 draws to a close tonight, with Portugal meeting France in the final.

Both countries take unbeaten records into the showpiece at the Stade de France, with Fernando Santos' team only losing once in qualifying and the finals combined (France, as hosts, didn't have to qualify). The eyes of Europe, if not the world, will be on the final. But one Australian newspaper hasn't been paying as much attention as the rest of us. The Herald Sun, Melbourne's local paper, accompanied its coverage of the Portugal v France clash with the two countries' respective flags. They've updated the template from the Wales v Belgium quarter-final and forgotten to change the flags around. Or perhaps they've just decided to stick the knife in to both countries, after the Belgians and the Welsh both fell short of the final hurdle. Supporters will hope it's not the only time they see their country's flag alongside a European Championship final preview. We'll check back in four years' time to see how prescient the Herald Sun proves to be. We're not holding our breath, though.
