It may be a new year, but it looks like the same old story for bottom-placed Aston Villa.

With 20 games played so far this year, the Villains have boast a measly eight points thanks to just one league win. Saturday's action saw Remi Garde's men lose 3-1 to the second from bottom Sunderland side who had lost all five of their games in December.
