It never really worked out for the ex-Shamrock Rovers man
Former Ireland Under-21 defender Enda Stevens has been released by Aston Villa today, the club have announced.
The 24-year-old full-back moved to Villa Park in 2012, but made only nine appearances in the claret and blue, spending most of his three and a half seasons in England on loan. He spent this season at Doncaster, where he played 19 times for the League One side and is now free to seek a new club after his contract expired.
Another Ireland Under-21 international, forward Graham Burke, has also been let go, while former England striker Darren Bent will also not be offered a new deal by the club.
One player who has been presented with a new contract is Holland defender Ron Vlaar.
UPDATE: Bent has already been snapped up by Derby County on a two-year deal.
