Arsenal interested in £100m rated striker you’ve never heard of

Arsenal look likely to dip into the January market in search of a striker after Danny Welbeck suffered a devastating ankle injury in the Europa League just over two weeks ago. Unai Emery still has Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at his disposal, but another forward to fulfil a rotation role in the squad would bolster their attacking options and increase their chances of breaking back into the top four. Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Genk forward Leandro Trossard, as Sport Witness report that his agent have confirmed interest from Arsenal. Trossard is not exactly a household name, even in households full of football fans, but apparently he's worth £100m. The Belgian striker has 11 goals in 19 appearances for Genk so far this season, attracting interest from Arsenal and their north London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. But the player's agent, Josy Comhair, revealed that despite interest in his client from the Gunners, Trossard would not be making a move in January. Comhair said: "I contacted representatives from Arsenal and Tottenham. At Spurs, nobody wanted to confirm that Trossard is an option, but Arsenal did. "They told me Leandro has a very interesting profile for them and that they’ve been following him since August. “They also added it was a good choice to stay at Genk for another year. They ended the phone call with ‘They are keeping a close eye on him’.” Genk manager Philippe Clement said: "I'm not afraid Trossard is leaving, it was not so easy to keep him last summer, but we talked. "Normally no players leaves in January. 100 million is something else, but 25 million is not enough for Trossard to leave in January."
