The Manchester United boss didn't play it coy or coolly - imagine - when he was pushed on Javier Hernandez's future.
The hero of Real Madrid's European quarter final has come into the limelight in the last week with goals in the Champions League and La Liga but, despite his rare run as a starter in the Madrid first team because of injury, van Gaal doesn't believe that changes his situation at Old Trafford.
And a favourite of the Stretford End looks set to be offloaded as the Dutch man continues to put his stamp on Manchester.
“Chicharito’s future? I have sent him away already this season,” van Gaal was pretty short with the Daily Star.
“I said the same as I said to [Danny] Welbeck: ‘You are again a substitute and I don’t think that is good for you’.
“When you score a goal – as he has just done for Real Madrid – are you suddenly different? I don’t think so.”
If that wasn't enough, the United boss proceeded to have a harsh swipe at Hernandez when he suggested that he wouldn't be as quick to get rid of Falcao. Because he's a good player and all that...
“I can’t say the same to him [Falcao],” van Gaal added. “Falcao has the quality to play.”
Tell us what you really think, Louis.
