Drying your hair is meant to be a nice, pleasant and warming experience, as the name suggests.
In a football sense, Alex Ferguson's manic tirades at half-time to inspire his players were anything but. Almost every player that walked through the doors at Old Trafford felt the force of the Scot's hot breath at some stage, nicknamed 'the hairdryer'. It usually generated the right result, though, as players were so terrified to return to face the Scot at full-time (and Fergie on 'full power'), they managed to pull extraordinary results out of the worst situations. Unfortunately it seems Louis van Gaal's own attempts at inspiring terror do not have the same effect. According to the Daily Mail, Anthony Martial has explained to RTL the Dutchman's efforts at giving out to his players backfires with laughter, and not fear, the end result."He yells at me. It makes me laugh because I know it's for my own good."Martial, however, feels that discipline is necessary to keep him focused and is something he was used to under former coach Leonardo Jardim at Monaco.
"He was very hard with me, that's what I needed."It must be the Dutch accent. Nothing sounds scary when you sound like Steve McClaren, yesh.
