Having this season played his way back in to form following a lengthy injury lay-off, the young defender returned to Canaries starting XI, making 33 league appearances this season and even captaining the side at just 20 years of age.
It is this return to form which has not only seen Omobamidele reclaim his place in Stephen Kenny's Ireland squad, but now also catch the eye of one of the world's biggest clubs.
According to the Telegraph, David Wagner is only considering selling his Irish centre half due to the fact he needs to raise funds for a much-needed summer rebuild ahead of an anticipated promotion charge next season.
This news has alerted last season's Scudetto winners, with AC said to be very interested in the prospect of enticing Omobamidele to the Series A.

If he were to take the plunge and head for Italy, the centre half would be following in the footsteps of fellow Irishmen Festy Ebosele and James Abankwah, who both made their Series A debuts this season for Udinese.
Another club linked with a move for the Norwich skipper is French Ligue 1 side Nice, who are backed by Manchester United bidder Jim Ratcliffe.
Already boasting the likes of former Premier League stars such as Aaron Ramsay and Ross Barkley, a move to the Cote d'Azur would also signal development for Omobamidele and the chance to also play European football.
