Andrea Pirlo has been named Serie A player of the year, again

Andrea Pirlo was named Player of the Year in the 2013-2014 Serie A season at an awards ceremony last night.

The veteran midfielder was given the nod for the honour for the third consecutive year after continuing to dominate games for Juventus. Pirlo, who we can't express enough admiration for, received the votes from players, coaches and journalists ahead of last night's event. The 35-year-old was named in the team of the year alongside teammats Gianluigi Buffon, Kwadwo Asamoah, Andrea Barzagli, Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez with Old Lady manager Antonio Conte named the year's best coach. "It's always a pleasure to win this award, it means I manage to stay at top level year after year," our Italian hero said at the ceremony.
