Whilst troubling details emerge from footballer Adam Johnson's ongoing court case, in which he is accused of sexual activity with a child, an innocent individual who happens to share the 28-year-old's name is facing a constant stream of abuse via social media. The football player with 12 England caps to his name has already pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one charge of grooming, but continues to deny two charges of sexual activity. His namesake is a God-fearing Christian from West Tennessee in the US, who registered the Twitter account @adamjohnson back in April 2009. He has no connection to the former Sunderland winger.
