Alan Pardew to speak to Jake Livermore after incident with West Ham fans

Whatever was said to Jake Livermore on Tuesday night must have been nasty.

Livermore was involved in a physical altercation with a West Ham fan during West Brom's defeat to the Hammers at the London Stadium. The Baggies midfielder was led down the tunnel after the incident, the cause of which remains unknown although certain theories have been doing the rounds on social media in terms of what the supporter in question was shouting at Livermore. The 28-year-old was substituted after 64 minutes and replaced by Hal Robson-Kanu as the visitors looked to get back in front after an Andy Carroll equaliser cancelled out James McClean's opener It was then that Livermore reacted to something that was said and reportedly confronted the fan before stewards could escort him away. https://twitter.com/ironswhufc66/status/948314275839467526 West Brom boss Alan Pardew, who spent three years in charge of West Ham, admitted he'd seen his player in the crowd but was unaware of the details of the incident. "The only thing I know is I see Jake in the crowd, which disturbed me. Obviously you don't want to see a player in the crowd," Pardew said.

"There's no way he's going in the crowd - because I know him, he's a great lad - unless he was provoked severely. That's all I know. "I haven't had a chance to talk to Jake. I'll speak to Jake and we'll go from there."

Carroll scored his second of the game in the final moments of the game to complete the comeback for the hosts, putting West Ham a point above the relegation zone.
