Alan Browne has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's game against Wales on Thursday night. The Preston North End midfielder picked up a calf injury in training and will play no part in the Uefa Nations League match in Cardiff.
Browne was in line to win his fourth cap for Ireland. The Cork native has started the season in impressive form for Preston, scoring two goals in five games for the Championship club.
The FAI announced his injury on Wednesday evening.
