Daniel Cleary has reportedly found himself a new club.

After spending five years with Liverpool, the Irish defender was deemed surplus to requirements by Jurgen Klopp this summer and was in the hunt for a new team. Fortunately, it seems as though that search is over as HITC Sport are reporting that the 20-year-old is close to securing a deal with Championship outfit Birmingham. Daniel Cleary 24/3/2011 Cleary was snapped up by the Reds in 2011 after impressing for Crumlin United but never established himself as a first team option under Brendan Rodgers or Jurgen Klopp and the club decided against renewing the underage international's contract this summer, despite the undeniable potential owned by the centre-half. “He is very committed”, former Reds boss Rodgers said of Cleary. "I have seen developments in my time, as a young player, I’ve seen him improve.” A free agent since May, Cleary had many eyes monitoring him but it seems as though he's set for St Andrew's as Birmingham manager Gary Rowett is thought to be a big fan of the young defender https://www.instagram.com/p/BFUG2v4IglO/?taken-by=danielcleary58 The Dubliner is expected to join up with the Blues' development squad before promptly being moved into first team contention. Let's hope his career can kick on from here.
