Stand down, Leeds United fans

Hopes that the down-on-its-luck Championship club would be taken over by Hollywood star Russell Crowe have been dashed after the Australian actor announced he had turned down the 'massive opportunity' to run the club. Gladiator star Crowe, 51, who already owns rugby league side the South Sydney Rabbitohs, had been linked with the club for some time and said he has been a Leeds fan all his life, but in explained in a series of tweets that his desire to spend more time with his children had convinced him to pull out of negotiations. https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636148946818076674 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636149626198863877 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636150278748635136 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636151417657397248 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636152158941908992 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636152158941908992 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636152957566775296 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636153565350727681 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636153888022790148 https://twitter.com/russellcrowe/status/636154821553164289
