LA Galaxy announced last night that Robbie 'MVP' Keane had signed a contract extension. The MLS club failed to mention how long the Irishman's contract has been extended for, but we are assuming that, considering the fanfare that accompanied the news, it must be more than a fortnight.
Keane is back in Ireland, ahead of this Saturday's Euro 2016 Qualifier against Scotland, so it was left to Galaxy coach Bruce Arena to wax lyrical about his star striker.
One Twitter user was quick off the mark to respond to the announcement. Unfortunately, they sacrificed factually reality for a place of prominence.
