Samoan centre brutalised by USA behemoth, 28 seconds into World Cup debut

Boshed to bits

Good while it lasted.

Spare several thoughts for Ray Lee-Lo after his World Cup debut was almost ended after less than 30 seconds.

The Samoan centre fronted up to Thretton Palamo, his opposite number, but was brutalised.

The Saracens and USA midfield star fended Lee-Lo off with a huge, leading elbow and left him stunned.

Lee-Lo received treatment on the pitch before he was taken off for a check on his facilities – itself a ground-breaking move as the temporary substitution was not for blood.

The United States man comes from an American Football background so is well used to thumping back opponents head-on.

Here are the slow-mo replays for Palamo’s leveller.

Samoa ended up winning 25-16 however, despite the best efforts of the USA’s out-half – AJ MacGinty from Dublin.
