One of the highlights of an incredible first half between Ireland and England was Keith Earls coming oh so close to scoring Ireland's first try.
In the ninth minute of the game, Ireland sensing an opportunity, with a penalty advantage, spread the ball wide.
The ball was received by Best in midfield who was immediately under serious pressure from Elliot Daly and Jonathan Joseph.
Best, somehow sensing that he had Jared Payne outside him, released an audacious, almost no-look reverse pass to the New Zealand-born player.

Payne then did excellently to gain some serious yardage before offloading to Earls who unfortunately spilled the ball after being heavily tackled by Ben Youngs and Mike Brown.
Thankfully, the referee went back for the penalty and Jonathan Sexton secured Ireland's first points of the game as he dissected the posts.
Best's piece of magic didn't go unnoticed by viewers...

Very fair from the Ireland boss. Scotland came to the Aviva Stadium with a Six Nations title on their minds, but these dreams were firmly put to down bed by an Ireland side who were on top from minute one to 80. Aside from the stellar displays from most of the players, another aspect of […]
Another top performance! Our Ireland player ratings as Andy Farrell’s men put in a six-try performance to defeat Scotland. Tom O’Toole – 8.5 The Ulsterman’s switch to loosehead looks to be paying real dividends with another great showing in the scrum, the highlight of which was an early penalty that led to Jamie Osborne’s try. It’s all to play for today! Ireland welcome Scotland to the Aviva Stadium this afternoon in the final round of the 2026 Six Nations, with both sides in with a chance of winning the title. The Scots are joint with France on points and a win would put huge pressure on Les Bleus against England […]
