Anthony Foley was remembered at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards on Sunday evening.

The late Munster coach was included in the montage paying tribute to the sports stars who passed away this year, a day after being honoured at RTE's annual sport award show. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/810595243460587520 Muhammad Ali, Johan Cryuff and Arnold Palmer were some of the most loved and well known sports stars to pass away in 2016. Foley's inclusion alongside such figures in the BBC montage shows how respected he was throughout world rugby and in the sporting world. Mark Farren, the former Derry City striker who passed away earlier this year following a battle with cancer, was also remembered in the moving montage. As was Ailish Sheehan, a rower from Limerick who passed away earlier this year.
