As the demands and responsibilities of rugby positions change, the era of the out-of-shape and ponderous front row player may well be dead. Nowadays they are expected to carry a lot, and not just punching holes in the close either, with some players like hooker Sean Cronin more than capable of turning on the gas and sprinting away from opponents.
However, the folks on Reddit/Rugby may have found an even faster big man. They have highlighted this remarkable try by Worcester Warrior prop Mike Daniels at the weekend.
Daniels takes the ball a few metres outside his own 22 and then burns off all the would be tacklers to score a try. Admittedly, he does look knackered afterwards but we'll let him away with that.
The Warriors website lists the 22-year-old as being 6'2" and 17stone 6lbs so that is a very big man going very fast indeed.
