His name didn't go on the scoresheet, but this remarkable try, and the victory it inspired, belongs completely to Pat Richards.
Wests Tigers trailed the Paramatta Eels 6-4 heading into the final stages of their NRL clash in Sydney today when winger Richards conjured up one of the most remarkable pieces of skill we've seen.
Receiving the ball in little space, Richards looked certain to be pulled into touch, but managed to dance along the sideline and then pull off an off-balance kick in the air for team-mate James Tedesco to gratefully pounce on for a try.
It takes several views for Richards' brilliance to become apparent, and the former Wigan Warriors star, who represented Ireland at the 2008 and 2013 World Cups, also kicked the touchline conversion as the Tigers went on to win 22-6.
