VIDEO: Hordes of singing Irish fans take over Wembley tube station after Romania victory

You'll never beat the Irish

Ben Kiely

The pesky queues for the tube failed to dampen Irish rugby fans’ spirits at the weekend.

There’s no doubt about it, the Irish faithful are taking over the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Whether it’s in the stands, outside the stadiums or even just commuting to and from matches, they’re letting their support for the national side be heard.

This footage really sums up the jovial spirit of the Irish support after the team’s fantastic start to the campaign.

Thousands of Irish fans were kept waiting over an hour for an Underground train from Wembley tube station after Ireland hammered Romania 44-10, but they kept the party going by belting out a rendition of Fields of Athenry.

The queue to tube. Over an hour waiting in crowd control but still singing!
