Gareth Thomas is not your typical rugby player.
Teak tough or so it seemed, the former Wales player took the field full of confidence in his own ability every single time. But inside his mental state never tallied to his outer physical confidence as he struggled to deal with his sexuality.
Whatever fears he had however were erased as he opened up to his teammates who gave him the support and courage needed to inspire others with the same feelings as detailed in this brilliant new Guinness promo ahead of the World Cup.
His journey proves that there there is something unique about a band of brothers that develops in a rugby side and that whatever happens, players are never alone, on or of the field.
