Video: Fergus McFadden banned for stamp in Leinster's win over Connacht
This has proved very costly for the Leinster man.
Fergus McFadden has received a three-week spell on the sidelines after he was cited for a stamp during Leinster's New Year's Day victory over Connacht.
The Ireland wing went before a disciplinary committee this afternoon and admitted his guilt about the incident.
McFadden initially faced a five-week ban but mitigating factors - such as admission of guilt and conduct at the hearing - saw his suspension reduced to three weeks. He will now miss Leinster's Pro12 game against the Ospreys and their final Champions Cup games against Bath and Wasps.
This is the incident in question [below]. McFadden's boot can be seen to connect with a Connacht player at the base of a ruck.
