Late on Saturday night, hundreds of fans turned out at Knock Airport to welcome the victorious outfit home from Edinburgh and the players hung around for an hour with their fans. With their Connacht folk.
And, late into the night, John Muldoon and co sang a moving rendition of The Fields of Athenry to the supporters just hours after making history. Just hours after having it sung in the other direction at them. Having it sung in support of them for years.
This was just a little something back to the fans. This was when Connacht became one.
