Yesterday word was out that a game in the top division of Belgian rugby ended 356-3. It was frankly hard to comprehend but now we have some footage, it is much clearer.
The game, between Royal Kituro and Soignies, was all set to be called off when the referee didn't show up. A number of the Soignies players got back on the team bus and went home. When a sub ref did turn up, an hour late, only 16 of the Soignies players were left.
To get the losing point on offer Soignies had to play the game, but as you can see, the team really didn't try too hard.
They conceded 56 tries, and when you see their attempts at tackling, you won't be surprised.

UPDATE: Soignies club secretary Stephan Carnol has said the club will appeal the result today, so one of the oddests scores in the history of rugby may get wiped off the record books.

Tom O’Toole – 8.5 The Ulsterman’s switch to loosehead looks to be paying real dividends with another great showing in the scrum, the highlight of which was an early penalty that led to Jamie Osborne’s try.
