Blackrock College, Leinster, Ireland underage star, former out-half now playing outside centre – Garry Ringrose is following Brian O’Driscoll’s career trajectory closely.

The 20-year-old Dubliner was one of the stars of the Irish team’s somewhat underwhelming Junior World Championship campaign in Italy this month.

Nigel Carolan’s team finished seventh overall in the JWC having performed well until they ran into eventual winners New Zealand in their final pool match.

Ringrose, who wore the 13 jersey for Ireland, caught the eye. The young player, who has already trained with the senior Ireland team, is included as one of the best performers by World Rugby.

Ringrose will be hoping to make his senior Leinster debut this September, especially with half the senior squad chasing World Cup glory with Joe Schmidt, in England.
