Gif: Munster prop Stephen Archer’s nifty offload the highlight as Munster mashed

A try-scoring return for Donnacha Ryan too

There were not many reasons to cheer for Munster supporters as they fell to a 23-12 defeat to Ospreys in Swansea.

Anthony Foley’s men were 23-0 down, going into the closing stages, before a late fightback restored some pride.

Substitute Donnacha Ryan scored a try to mark his return to rugby. Today was his first game of the season following foot surgery, last year, and a lengthy comeback.

The highlight for the travelling support was a Keith Earls try that came courtesy of a sublime, out-the-back flick from prop Stephen Archer.

Just about the only positives to take from Leinster’s 23-13 defeat to Scarlets were the lack of injuries to senior players and the fact that Cian Healy played 73 minutes in his ongoing quest for match fitness.

Ben Te’o scored a first-half try but the Blues shipped three tries to the Welsh side in a result that puts greater top six pressure on Connacht.

Three defeats from three for Irish sides in Wales this weekend. Next up, Ulster v Dragons.
