The reigning European Player of the Year has gotten into a bit of bother with French police
The Guardian tonight are reporting that one-time England international Steffon Arnitage was questioned by French police today over an alleged assault. Armitage, along with Toulon team-mate Xavier Chiocci, were quizzed over an attack on a man at a party on December 13, 2014, the day that Toulon beat Leicester in the Champions Cup.
It is said by the Mail that some of the players were celebrating at a Mourillon beach-side bar and witnesses allege that Armitage and Chiocci were involved in an incident with another patron of the bar.
It is reported that both players said they have no recollection of the incident and Toulon refused to comment. Armitage was not arrested or charged and attended the police in a voluntary capacity.
