Supporters aged 25 to 34 are the most vulnerable.
Revolut are urgently warning rugby fans to be wary of ticket scams for Ireland’s Six Nations clash with France on Saturday.
The digital bank have reported a 33% increase in the number of Irish people that fall victim to ticket scams during the final two weeks of February compared to the first two.
These scams appear to be most prevalent on X, Facebook and WhatsApp, with those aged between 25 and 34 the most vulnerable victims.

Revolut are calling on rugby fans in particular to take extra caution when purchasing tickets, especially with Ireland’s upcoming crunch tie in the Aviva on Saturday.
Malcolm Craig, general manager at the Ireland branch of Revolut, said: “We know how important the Six Nations is to so many of our customers across all of the competing nations but none more so than Ireland, where Irish rugby fans are so anxious to support their team.
“Sadly, fraudsters capitalise on the scarcity and demand for these events, particularly ahead of championship-defining matches such as this weekend’s.
“We urge customers not to panic-buy or fall for offers that are too good to be true.
“The security of our customers’ money is our absolute priority and we firmly advise people to only purchase tickets from trusted ticketing platforms that offer clear protections against fraudulent sellers.”
Revolut have listed red flags that fans who are purchasing tickets should look out for.
According to the digital bank, many of the fraudsters say that they cannot meet up in person and prefer for the purchase to take place online, while also using unofficial sites with less verification.
Many scammers offer fans seemingly legitimate tickets at extremely low prices to try and pressure victims into buying them before it’s too late.
According to Revolut, they prevented €550m in potential fraud against customers in 2023.
