Keith Earls may be scoring his tries in the red and black of Saracens next season, the one after that and the one after that.

The Munster back has been heavily linked to a summer switch to Sarries after a reported offer of a three-year deal. The province is refusing to comment on this morning reports but, if true, Earls could be following JJ Hanrahan [Northampton Saints] to the Aviva Premiership. As the Earls to Munster story went from rumour to likelihood, Saracens fans waded in with their opinion on the 28-year-old. Given that Earls is a 46-cap veteran of the Ireland side, is a Grand Slam winner, our top try-scorer at World Cups and is a British & Irish Lion, the online response* was hardly resounding. https://twitter.com/willgkelleher/status/691966615227928577 https://twitter.com/ChmofSelectors/status/691925003454005249 Here is a sample of the comments on a Sarries fan forum:
Saint ED: 'Don't get it myself. It's years since he's been real quality and injuries have taken their toll. You have so much fantastic talent in your Academy doesn't really make sense to me to block it? Does this mean that one of your centres is off?' at-sarrie: 'Great player and can remember when he was touted as the next big thing when he played for the lions in 2009, however already have plenty of players in that position and can't really understand the signing unless a wyles/taylor/bosch/ashton was leaving which I'm guessing is unlikely.' Wolfpack Mozart: 'Good job we're already loathed over the water otherwise this would really do it! In all seriousness though a really good signing for us to fill the gap [David] Strettle left last season.'
*It must be noted, Will Kelleher is not a Sarries fan
