A day that promised so much in both camps ended the same for both camps. Ireland beaten well, Scotland beaten by a last-gasp winner. Both beaten. The last of the northern hemisphere were sent packing from the Rugby World Cup as Argentina and Australia set up a semi final meeting with each other. But with two contrasting performances from the Scots and the Irish, there's a debate rumbling. Scotland fought until the last, they left everything on the pitch, and they lost by a point. They could have no real regrets but probably feel more heartache. Ireland never really got going. A slow start saw them 17 points behind before they knew it and they were well beaten in the end 43-20. When the players look back in years to come, they might not even remember this game because it passed by in an instant. Or maybe it's the hope that kills you... Which would you rather?
