Video: Anyone else spot Mike Ross using his head to set up Paul O’Connell’s Scottish try?

Oops!

‘Oh, sorry, am I in your way?’

Watching Ireland’s 40-10 win over Scotland, on Saturday, and SportsJOE was very much impressed with Sean O’Brien’s clear-out of a ruck just before Paul O’Connell’s crucial, fifth minute try.

Watching the game back today, we spotted a nice bit of ruck-ambling from Irish prop Mike Ross.

Ireland are renowned for their ruck-clearing abilities – often driving men a yard beyond the breakdown to shift would-be poachers. As you will see in the video below, Ross does this well and goes a canny step beyond.

With Paul O’Connell about to pick and go, Ross uses his noggin to obstruct Scottish lock Jim Hamilton, ever so slightly, and make a hole for his captain. That’s team-work.
