Paul Galvin was not the only person in awe of Beauden Barrett’s jaw-dropping skill

Good Lord above!

New Zealand doled out their record beating to South Africa to all but seal their *seven billionth Rugby Championship title.

Nehe Milner Skudder helped himself to two tries from the All Blacks’ total of eight and Beauden Barrett kicked 17 points in a one-sided, ceaseless 57-0 victory.

New Zealand were already 10-0 up after Aaron Smith’s quick-tap and kick over the top set up a score for Rieko Ioane, and Barrett had landed a penalty, when Milner Skudder came to the party.

The Hurricanes winger intercepted as pass mere metres from his own 22 and set off up the pitch. He possibly had to legs to make it to the line but Barrett was haring up in support and superbly drew in two Springboks before unloading a downright filthy pass out the back door.

With that, Milner Skudder had scored and New Zealand had gone from 3-0 to 17-0 up in the space of four unforgettable minutes.

Praise for Barrett was widespread and no more so from former Kerry GAA star Paul Galvin, who was lapping it all up from his couch.

Nice way to spend your Saturday morning.

Here is the try in all it’s glory.

*Between the Tri Nations and The Rugby Championship, New Zealand have won 14 titles in 21 years. Number 15 is on the way.
