Matthew Morgan comes into the side at full back while wing Alex Cuthbert and centre Tyler Morgan also start in an otherwise unchanged XV from the team that beat England in dramatic circumstances on Saturday night.
"We have made three changes through injury but go into this game with a strong side," Gatland said.
"It is important we build on the success and momentum from last weekend and take that into Thursday."
Wales will be hoping to keep their 100% record in tact when they welcome Fiji to the Millenium Stadium which would pile the pressure on both England and Australia who meet on Saturday.
