You’ll surely never name all 35 Irish players that represented the Lions since 1997

Anything over 25 is a great score

Patrick McCarry

Over the past 20 years, Irish representation on Lions squads has dramatically increased.

To a mere handful in 1997 to a glut of Irish players in 2009 and 2013, this country’s stock has risen as we have been tested by the best.

33 Irish players have pulled on that famous red jersey over the past 20 years, with Brian O’Driscoll having the honour of being selected for four straight tours.

We are giving you seven minutes to get all 35 Irish players that have represented the Lions since that winning tour to South Africa in 1997.

HINTS: Two players were selected but injured while another was banned before touring [all in 2009]

Unfortunately, Alan Quinlan [selected to tour in 2009 and subsequently banned] is not included but two injured players [we’re not saying who] are.

Surnames will suffice but type out the whole name if it makes you feel any smarter.
