Serious concern for three players from a Limerick school forced an early end to a Munster Schools Junior Cup game on Wednesday.
The Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup quarter-final between St. Munchins College and Presentation Brothers College Cork did not recommence after 10 minutes of play following injuries to three players.
The Irish Examiner report that the game was held up for an over an hour as the players received treatment before the decision was made by St. Munchins not to continue on, as the injured players' teammates were so distressed by the incident.

The report claims that two players suffered head injuries while a third also sustained a concussion-related injury. Two of the players were taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
The referee in charge of the game instructed the players to return to the pitch once the injured players has received attention, so that the game could continue, but when no St. Munchins' players took to the field for a scrum with the score at 5-0 in favour of PBC, the official made the decision to award the victory to PBC who now move forward to a semi-final meeting with Bandon.
