Joe Schmidt and Andy Farrell disagree over game-winning decision for the Lions

SportsJOE

A huge call!

The Lions have beaten Australia, 29-26, to clinch a series win, having won the first Test last week.

The tourists came from 17 points down, in what was an epic comeback, capped off by Hugo Keenan’s last-gasp try.

However, in the build up to the winning score there was controversy, with the referee going back to look at a clear out from Jac Morgan, before deciding that there was no foul play.

Australia’s head coach Joe Schmidt was not pleased with the call, saying at his post-match press conference, “just look at Law 9.20.”

This law states that ‘head contacts and cleanouts around the neck must be penalised’.

Lions head coach Andy Farrell took a different view, believing that it was a “great” clear out.
