There is multi-talented and then there is Lindsay Peat.

The 35-year-old prop showed great awareness and got some serious air for her first ever Ireland try.

Peat, who represented Ireland at underage football and captained Ireland Women’s basketball team, made a sustained period of pressure count with a diving score.

The former Dublin GAA star picked at the base of a ruck and lept past the covering Italian defence to dot down.

Peat try

It was a crucial score as Ireland had trailed 3-0 after half an hour of action at Donnybrook.

Ciara Griffin’s second-half try settled a hard-fought contest and secured Ireland’s second win of the championship. Tom Tierney will be pleased with the 14-3 victory ahead of next weekend’s visit of Scotland.
