Ian Madigan named at centre for Pro 12 clash
Matt O’Connor has decided the best thing to maintain the improvement in Ian Madigan’s game is plenty of matches and is pitching him in for more action in the centre in tomorrow’s Guinness Pro 12 clash with Ospreys in the RDS.
The man with the greatest hair in world rugby played 22 minutes of last week’s win over Australia as a replacement for Gordon D’Arcy and played the full game against Georgia the week before.
Madigan is one of six changes made by Matt O’Connor as Fergus McFadden also returns to feature at outside centre.
Eoin Reddan captains the side from outhalf with Jimmy Gopperth named at 10. Dave Kearney, Zane Kirchner and Darragh Fanning are the back three as Carlow’s Bryan Byrne starts at hooker. Michael Bent and Tadhg Furlong continue at loose head and tight head respectively.
In the second row Mike McCarthy has been selected alongside Kane Douglas while Dominic Ryan is starting at blindside.
Kick off tomorrow is at 5.15.
