Great news for Munster fans as extra tickets are allocated for Champions Cup quarter-final

Jack O'Toole

Great news for Munster fans looking to attend this Saturday’s Champions Cup quarter-final with Toulon at Thomond Park as the province have announced that 1,000 extra tickets for the match will go on general sale today at noon.

Munster will face a Toulon team coming off of a 49-0 win over Clermont last weekend, however, the French club have now returned a portion of their ticket allocation for this weekend’s match.

A statement on the Munster website reads:

“The game kicks off at 3.15pm and tickets go on sale here today at noon.

“Toulon returned a portion of their ticket allocation and with Members of the Munster Rugby Supporters Club and Season Tickets holders given the opportunity to purchase additional tickets over the last number of days, the remaining tickets will now go on general sale.

“With additional seating installed at either end of the pitch, the eagerly-anticipated clash is set to be played in front of a capacity 26,267 crowd.”

Munster head coach Johann van Graan confirmed that utility backs Simon Zebo and Andrew Conway are both 50/50 calls for this weekend, while centre Rory Scannell will commence his return to play protocols after he was replaced by Dan Goggin to undergo a HIA.

Meanwhile Tommy O’Donnell will most likely be ruled out of the tie after he left Saturday’s win over the Scarlets with his arm in a sling, while Conor Murray, Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander will all be back from international duty following Ireland’s Six Nations campaign.
