A player in France's Pro D2 has been suspended for 19 weeks, following a shocking piece of foul play.
Provence's Guillaume Piazzoli was playing against Dax in the second tier of French rugby when he kneed out-half Romuald Séguy in the head.
He initially received a 20-week ban which was then increased by two weeks for previous foul play, following his 10-week suspension last autumn when he received a red card for kicking a Biarritz player in the face while he was on the ground.

As per French journalist Gauthier Baudin, this was reduced by three weeks for 'mitigating circumstances, including expression of remorse, acknowledgment of guilt, and conduct before and during the hearing'.
Dax won the game 33-21, and they are currently 13th in the table with Provence in third.
