VIDEO: Georgia and Namibia play never-ending half of rugby, fans amused and horrified

It's meant to last forty right?

Kevin McGillicuddy

Georgia and Namibia may not have had much to play for Wednesday night in their World Cup encounter but, by god, both sides were excited to be in action.

So much so that they hardly wanted to come off the field for half time.

The game was a very stop-start affair in Exeter as Namibia took a 6-0 lead into the dressing rooms long after the supposed 40 minute half was due to end with the second half sparking to life as Georgia won 17-16.

But all the talk after the game was about the very long first half.

But because of some serious ill-discipline by the African side they ended the first half with 13 men, and the half itself didn’t end until 49 in-game minutes had elapsed

Some rugby fans were clearly getting frustrated

Some really could not believe how long the first half took to end

While some made very valid points

Others remarked about video replays slowing down the match

Some fans saw their life slipping from in front of their eyes

And some people were just downright confused

And of course the referee George Clancy had to be also at fault
