AIL Division 1A side Cork Con are conducting an internal review into an incident which took place at the end of their league win over Young Munster on Saturday.
A video circulating on social media shows the players engaged in a schemozzle, before a spectator appears to throw a beverage at a Young Munster player. Onlookers were moved away from the pitch as players reacted angrily to the incident.
As per the Irish Examiner, the Cork club have released a statement, which has circulated on WhatsApp, stating their intent to conduct a "full internal review".
It reads: “Cork Constitution F.C. is aware of an incident after a match against Young Munster on Saturday, 22nd March. The club is currently conducting a full internal review into the incident. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct and will take appropriate action in line with our disciplinary procedures.
"We wish to acknowledge the strong relationship between Cork Constitution and Young Munster, and we remain in contact with their representatives as we address this matter.
"As this is an ongoing review, we will not be making any further comment at this time.”
The Gardaí have notified SportsJOE that they are not involved in the incident.
The game at Young Munster's Tom Clifford Park finished 30-23 to the away side, moving Cork Con up into third place, with the Limerick outfit remaining in seventh.
